Chicken & Waffles At Kinfolk And More

Chicken & Waffles At Kinfolk And More Chicken restaurant

Overview

Walking into Kinfolk at 7319 Indrio Rd Suite 5, Fort Pierce, FL 34951, United States feels less like stepping into a restaurant and more like being invited into someone’s kitchen. The first time I tried Chicken & Waffles At Kinfolk And More, I went in expecting comfort food and walked out genuinely impressed by how much care went into every plate. The menu isn’t overloaded, which actually works in its favor, because each dish feels intentional, tested, and refined through real customer feedback and hands-on cooking experience.

The chicken and waffles are clearly the star, and for good reason. The chicken arrives hot and crisp, with a seasoned crust that doesn’t overpower the meat. It’s juicy all the way through, which tells you the kitchen understands proper brining and frying temperatures. According to food safety research from the USDA, maintaining oil temperature between 325°F and 375°F is essential for crisp texture without drying out the protein, and Kinfolk consistently gets this right. The waffles balance that savory crunch with a soft interior, lightly sweet and sturdy enough to hold syrup without going soggy. I overheard a server explain that the batter is rested before cooking, a small step that improves texture and flavor, and it shows.

What really stands out is how the flavors come together. A drizzle of syrup ties everything into one satisfying bite, and you can tell the recipe has been adjusted over time based on real reviews and repeat customers. I’ve seen diners compare it to classic Southern diners, and while that comparison makes sense, Kinfolk adds its own personality. The seasoning blend has a subtle kick, and the waffles don’t rely on sugar alone to carry the dish.

Beyond chicken and waffles, the menu offers other comfort-driven options that rotate depending on availability. This approach mirrors what culinary experts from organizations like the James Beard Foundation often highlight: smaller menus allow restaurants to focus on quality and consistency rather than volume. Kinfolk seems to follow that philosophy closely. Each item I’ve tried, from sides to specials, has felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

The atmosphere also plays a role in the experience. It’s casual and welcoming, the kind of place where conversations flow easily and staff remember returning guests. During one visit, I watched a staff member ask a regular how their usual order was last time and adjust the seasoning slightly based on that feedback. That level of attention builds trust, and it explains why many local reviews mention feeling valued as customers rather than rushed through a meal.

Location matters too, especially for a diner-style spot. Being situated on Indrio Road makes it accessible without feeling overrun by traffic, and parking is straightforward. For Fort Pierce locals, it’s an easy go-to. For visitors, it’s worth the short drive off the main routes. Online reviews consistently point out the friendly service and generous portions, and my experiences line up with that feedback.

There are a few limitations worth noting. Seating can fill up quickly during peak hours, and wait times may vary depending on the day. The menu isn’t designed for those looking for upscale dining or extensive dietary substitutions. Still, for anyone seeking well-executed comfort food with heart, those trade-offs feel reasonable.

What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Studies from the National Restaurant Association show that repeat customers prioritize consistent food quality over novelty, and Kinfolk clearly understands that. Every visit reinforces the same standard, from the crunch of the chicken to the warmth of the service. It’s the kind of place where you can confidently recommend the signature dish, knowing it will deliver the same satisfaction every time.

Friendly staff and excellent food makes this Soulful Hidden Gem a must try. The Collard Greens were perfect, coleslaw was spot on, the SoulRolls are amazing and don't get me started on the Chicken and Waffles. Definitely worth a try if you're into flavor...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Feels Like Home Every Single Time This place is absolutely amazing. The food takes me straight back to my childhood — that good old-fashioned Southern home-cooked taste that warms your soul. My wife loves it too. If money grew on trees, we’d probably eat here twenty days out of the month — that’s the honest truth. Every single staff member is professional, friendly, and welcoming. They make you feel like you’re sitting at Grandma’s table, not just another restaurant. Our daughter joined us this last visit and said her shrimp was a little too salty, but she loved the greens. My wife, Evelyn, has tried at least six dishes and every time she says she must’ve been deprived as a child . I’ve only tried two, but my go-to is the meatloaf — it’s pure comfort, like walking into Grandma’s kitchen again. Five stars across the board doesn’t even cover it — this is a solid ten out of ten experience every time.

Don't be curious, give in and be glad you did. This place is amazing. Delicious chicken, local and love in their food. Definitely try the deviled eggs and soul rolls too. You won't be dissapointed!

Incredible food and kind, attentive service. It was very affordable as well. I got the wing Wednesday deal with lemon pepper and a side of beans. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Traveled from Ft. Myers to this coast visiting a laboratory at FAU, and the lab assistant there highly recommended the fried chicken at this establishment. She couldn't say enough about the chicken and waffles, as well as the soul roll. I didn't get the chicken and waffles, but I did order the fried chicken sandwich, and my wife got the chicken tenders. We also ordered a side of soul rolls and I washed it down with their delicious sweet tea. The soul rolls were really good, and the fried chicken was juicy and so good. It tasted fresh and not old oil, which is too common with fried food in general. Kinfolk was awesome. The service was awesome. My wife, her sister and boyfriend, and myself all really enjoyed our experience here.

My husband and I were looking for a place where we could get some fried chicken and found Chicken and Waffles at Kinfolk. This little joint did not disappoint. We both ordered the chicken and waffles, the chicken was DELICIOUS, you could tell they fried it up upon ordering because we had to wait for a few )worth it) and it was piping hot goodness. I highly recommend this place I know we’ll be going back soon!

The food is amazing!!! After trying another soul food restaurant in Ft. Pierce FL previous to KINFOLK, we were skeptical about the food industry here. For breakfast we decided to give KINFOLK a try and was very pleased… The food is amazing and all meals have a beautiful presentation. I ordered the catfish and grits. My wife ordered the salmon croquettes. And we also got an order of the strawberry shortcake french toast. The catfish was the tender, savory, well seasoned, evenly crisped, all you can imagine. The French toast was to die for. And the salmon croquettes, let’s just say my wife had to take a power nap afterwards lol. Hands down the best.

Amazing food and excellent service! I ordered the smothered pork chop with rice and couldn’t resist adding a waffle, worth it. Everything was fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to return!
